Design Services

HUPAD planners and design professionals provide stewardship of the University’s campuses and physical resources. Through the development of district-wide studies and site-specific planning principles and design guidelines, we inform the planning and design of existing and new facilities. HUPAD manages the University’s Designer Selection & Design Review Policy and provides support to project proponents in the planning and design of campus buildings and the public realm, placemaking, and public art. HUPAD guides University design processes involving the interaction of architects, engineers, and landscape architects. During these design processes, HUPAD advocates for the interests and objectives of the Harvard Schools and Units within the University’s long-term vision.
